The French Museum of the Army is located on the Rive Gauche in Paris. Napolean's tomb at Invalides is adjacent to the Museum. Originally the headquarters of the French Army and later a veteran's hospital, it was there that the original Compagnies Franches units were formed. Tippecanoe was only one of two musical groups in history to have ever been permitted to perform there. The other was Pink Floyd. Later we performed in the Jardin de Luxembourg at a Parisian summer music festival. The Jardin de Luxembourg is located next to the Palais de Luxembourg, home of the French National Assembly. |

We performed here in two locations: The Hôtel de Ville or City Hall and then paraded to a performance in the Place de la Cathèdrale in front of the famous 600 year old Catherdral of Rouen. Following our performance we were treated to a formal reception with the mayor and local tourism officials. Our spectacle was enough to land us in the provinical newspaper, Paris-Normandie. |

Many of share special memories at hours spent in Rouen's old city at a café under the giant clock or Gros Horloge. Some of our members were treated to visits to Mont St. Michel and the U.S. Army cemetary at Omaha beach. |
