Tippecanoe Ancient
Fife & Drum Corps

The Tippecanoe Ancient Fife & Drum Corps is from Lafayette, Indiana.  In 1717,  French Marine forces belonging to Les Compagnies Franches de la Marine established a trading post on the Wabash river and named it Ouiatenon.  This post, just outside of present day Lafayette Indiana was at the far southwest corner of, what was then, the French colony of Canada.

It is on that historical background that the Tippecanoe Ancients have based their widely acclaimed authentic historical presentations.  Please follow the links below to learn about this important period in the exploration of North America.  As an acknowledgment to our region's French roots, we also include the text of our history in French.
